yeah, but, his nose has become sonething like his hallmark, i think...it's just him!^^ who cares about the authors thoughts, the readers have to decide in the end (what i just said about the author sounds kinda rude...)
Once a writer -- or any artist -- sends her creation out into the world, she has no control over how people interpret it. If we think Snape is sexy, we think he's sexy, no matter how hideous JKR tried to make him.
This is the reason I pay no attention to "interview canon" or Pottermore or even the films in my fanfic and fan art. To me, canon is the published text, period. I can interpret that however I please, but I don't violate it unless I'm going AU. Other fans will do things differently, as is their right.
